Cutting Through Self-Illusion

The idea that our invention of a Self is an illusion is at the very heart of our suffering and was surely the most radical and significant of the Buddha’s teachings. This course examines, through sitting and discussion, the ways in which our minds create, recreate and reinforce this Self-Illusion. Then in each session we will follow the teachings of two remarkable Tibetan masters of the Karma Kagyu Lineage, Akong Rinpoche and Chogyam Trungpa, who have explored methods of cutting through our alienating Self-attachment through compassion-in-action and crazy-wisdom.
