Established by Rob Nairn in 2008, the Mindfulness Africa network is a group of mindfulness practitioners dedicated to assisting people enhance their own well-being and the well-being of others. Mindfulness is learning to pay attention to our moment-by-moment experience with an attitude of kindness and curiosity. The progressive training results in a deepening awareness and compassion. We become more resilient to the ups and downs of everyday life.
Mindfulness Africa offers training in mindfulness and mindful movement:
- to deepen awareness and compassion, and
- to neutralise the negative effects of stress.

Jenny Canau is a mindfulness facilitator with 20 yrs of meditation experience, having trained under the guidance of Rob Nairn. She is a former human-rights lawyer and law lecturer, with a special interest in pioneering mindfulness in education. Jenny teaches mindfulness courses at UCT, several schools in Cape Town and also runs family days with an emphasis on teaching children.
