About Dónal
Dónal Creedon is a highly experienced Buddhist meditation teacher known for his warmth, openness, and sincerity. He has trained extensively with Kagyu lineage masters in Europe, India, and Nepal, including many years of intensive retreat practice. Dónal's approach is also informed by his time as a resident Buddhist scholar at the Krishnamurti Centre in Varanasi, integrating radical inquiry into his teachings.
In 2017, Dónal published 'The Main of Light', a comparative study examining the teachings of J. Krishnamurti and Buddhist traditions, particularly Mahamudra and Dzogchen. This work explores profound questions of human existence, sorrow, fear, death, and the potential for a life of intelligence and compassion, beyond the travail and illusion of dualism. Dónal hopes his study will inspire further exploration and dialogue on these important topics.
As Dónal says: “It is my hope that this study will serve as a modest contribution to what I feel is an immensely important area of human exploration. I hope it will stimulate questions not only in Buddhist and Krishnamurti students, but anyone interested in the deep problems that affect our world so grievously.”
Dónal will also run a retreat from 22 Nov to 21 Dec at the Tara Rokpa Centre in Groot Marico, please contact them directly to book.
