Lama Katen, the next Abbott of Samye Ling monastery and Lama Yeshe Rinpoche’s designated successor is visiting our centre.

Lama Katen’s Teaching Programme

Friday 7 December  from 5.30pm
Join us at the Centre in welcoming Lama Katen to Kagyu Samye Dzong Cape Town followed by a bring and share supper.
 
Saturday 8 December
9am – 10am Green Tara Puja precedes Lama Katen’s teaching. All are welcome to join.
10.30am – 12pm: Lama Katen teaching
12pm - 2pm Bring and share lunch
2pm – 3.30pm Lama Katen teaching  
 
Sunday 9 December

10.30am – 12pm: Lama Katen teaching
12pm - 2pm Bring and share lunch
2pm – 3.30pm Lama Katen teaching  
 
Cost to attend the weekend teachings:
Members R60 per session & Dana
Non-members R80 per session & Dana
Package deal for all 4 teachings
Members R200 & Dana
Non-members R280 & Dana
Note: No-one will be turned away due to lack of funds, please contact Penny at capetown@kagyu.org.za or call  021 761 2978  to arrange to pay what you can afford.

Dana is a heartfelt and voluntary donation (offering) to the teacher(s) and sangha, and is not included in the above costs.

Bio of Lama Katen

As a young boy in East Tibet, Lama Katen was given the auspicious name of Tsultrim Palbar by his maternal uncle, Choje Akong Tulku Rinpoche. He learned to read and write Tibetan in his local village, but as there was no Monastery nearby he was unable to follow his natural inclination to become a monk. Read more
